As I’ve mentioned, I have been writing a Movie Set Travel Column each week over at Jaunted.com. Here’s a look at the settings and locations for Push, Watchmen, and Sunshine Cleaning.
The best thing about Push is definitely the location. Set and filmed entirely in Hong Kong the gorilla-style film techniques used to capture the authenticity of the city totally pay off. If you find yourself wanting to catch the next flight to Hong Kong after watching the movie (which you will) here’s what to do when you get there.
Watchmen, aka the movie with the giant blue penis, is set in NYC but was primarily filmed on a sound stage in Vancouver with only a few days on location in L.A. and New York. Here’s your guide to Vancouver, Watchmen style.
Sunshine Cleaners stars Amy Adams and Emily Blunt as sisters who start a “biohazard cleaning service”, in other words, they clean up crime scenes and suicides. The movie is set in Albuquerque, NM where it was also filmed. Check out my Sunshine Cleaners guide to Albuquerque, minus the blood and police tape.

CSI: NY is filming at 590 S Santa Fe Ave and E 6th St & Santa Fe Ave in Los Angeles.
The Colony is filming at 516 S Anderson St, on 4th St from Mateo St to Anderson St and Anderson St from 4th St to 6th St in Los Angeles. (Permits state they will be filming at this location for the entire month.)
The Watchmen Premiere is tonight at 6:00 PM, Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
The London Premiere of Marley and Me is tonight at West End Vue.
Fringe is filming around Milton St and Manhattan Ave in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. (We also got a tip a few days ago that they were filming around 21st and Broadway in NYC today but haven’t been able to confirm it. Thanks Dswift.)
FYI: I heard that Gossip Girl will be filming in their studio today, not on location.
UPDATE:
CSI Miami is filming today in the building next to 14650 Aviation Blvd, Hawthorne, CA. The building they film in has a sign in front that reads, “Miami Dade Police Dept Crime Lab.” (Thanks Susan!)
The Mentalist is filming right now on Hollywood Blvd.in Hollywood California. Right before 67920 Hollywood Blvd. (Thanks Alex!)

Boogie Town is filming at 1317 Willow St, Los Angeles. (through 12/21)
Watchmen is filming at 802 S. Broadway, Los Angeles. (tomorrow too) It looks like this will be a huge scene with 250 extras (an angry crowd rushing from building onto the street), dogs, an arrest in an alley, and exterior dialog, intersection of 8th and Broadway. Love and Other Impossible Pursuits is filming near Park and 85th in NYC.
My Name is Earl is filming on Hart St in Van Nuys, CA. (Thanks Tina!)
