Filming News: A Start Date for ‘Fringe’ in Vancouver, Ben Affleck Can’t Golf and More!

It pains me to write this but it looks like Season 2 of Fringe starts filming in Vancouver on June 24th. Well, New Yorkers, I guess it’s official. We definitely need to get a few tipsters in Vancouver or maybe plan an OLV field trip…

Apparently, they learned Ben Affleck is a terrible golfer on the set of The Company Men in Lynn, MA on Tuesday. Employees at the golf club where they were shooting “had a good time with the movie crews Tuesday and some took pictures with Affleck, who one described as “big and athletic,” but with a less than desirable golf swing.
“His swing was so atrocious they had to have a stand-in,” he quipped.

Las Vegas is the fifth character in The Hangover, opening in theaters today.

The Zookeeper, starring starring Kevin James and Rosario Dawson, will begin filming at the Franklin Park Zoo in Dorchester, MA and the Stone Zoo in Stoneham, MA this summer once James wraps Grown Ups, currently filming in Essex, MA.

A Couple of Cops, starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan and directed by Kevin Smith, is filming on Atlantic Avenue between Henry Court Street and Hicks Street, Brooklyn.

A Little Help, starring Jenna Fischer, is filming around Meadowbrook Park, Uniondale, NY.(Thanks Danny!)

Inaugural Literacy Associates Benefit for Literacy Partners will be held at Tenjune, 26 Little West 12th Street, NYC at 7 p.m. Celebrities expected: Caroline Kennedy and many others.

The Museum of the Moving Image presents a preview screening of new movie Away We Go (Farlanders) , followed by a discussion with director Sam Mendes at Chelsea Cinema 9, 260 W. 23rd, NYC, 7 p.m.

The Hangover premiere is tonight at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, 6925 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, 6:30 arrivals.

Iron Man 2 is shooting at Edwards Airforce Base agan. Yesterday, RDJ and Gwyneth Paltrow were not there though. They filmed near the base operations building using a bunch of T-38s, a couple of Global Hawks, a B-52, a C-17, a C-130 and a B-2, all sitting on the ground.
