Robert Downey Jr. will keep fighting alongside his buddies from Avengers, at least for the next two movies and, who knows, maybe we will also get to see the hero in another installment of Iron Man.
Marvel Studios recently announced that they have signed a contract with Robert Downey Jr. that will see the return of the “billionaire playboy philanthropist Tony Stark and his superheroic alter ego Iron Man for two more movies”.
Tomorrow night, Wednesday, April 11 at 6 p.m. PST, Marvel will stream The Avengers World Premiere online live from the El Capitan Theatre, 6838 Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood, and you can check it out in the player above!
Recently we’ve had several readers report Group Hug signs posted near Grand Central Terminal in New York City.
And, of course, Group Hug is the working title for The Avengers, starring Robert Downey Jr. Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, and Samuel L. Jackson.
The signs advising residents that they would not be able to park on the street were posted on Madison/Vanderbilt between 44th and 45th Sts for filming on Monday.
Similar signs were posted outside Grand Central a few months ago and filming did take place, but only for a few hours and it appeared to only be a second unit crew, meaning none of the film’s stars were there.
Though the image above isn’t too revealing, it is the first we’ve seen from behind the walls of the DHL facility in Wilmington, OH where they are currently filming scenes for The Avengers.
As we’ve reported, the movie is filming at the former DHL facility in Wilmington, Ohio this week. The entrance gate is located at the corner of Ruane and Hunter Drive, but has been closely guarded while shooting is taking place.
Reportedly, there is a mock Navy Flight Deck that they built for the movie inside the building in the background. And, as you can see from the photo, it appears they are also filming inside a military plane.
Apparently, the NASA facility has a feature of particular interest to filmmakers: A vacuum chamber that can recreate the cold and airlessness of outer space. Reportedly, this is one of the reasons why Plum Brook was chosen as a filming location.
According to the Cleveland Film Commission, more information about the filming will be released as it becomes available.
The shoot is tentatively scheduled to take place in August.
Filming for The Avengers is set to begin in Ohio this week so be on the lookout! If you spot them filming, let us know about it at firstname.lastname@example.org!
