As we reported, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 began filming in Brooklyn today, and now we have a little more information about what scenes they are shooting.
Today’s scene involved Andrew Garfield (as Peter Parker sans the Spider-Man costume which he was spotted in yesterday) and Shailene Woodley (who plays Mary Jane). As you can see from the photos below, one of today’s scenes involved Mary Jane arriving on a motorcycle and meeting Peter. We’ve also confirmed the house they are shooting at will be Mary Jane’s house in the movie.

As we reported, several casting calls were posted earlier this month for a Funeral/Wake scene for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 filming tomorrow, Feb. 14, and it looks like we might have discovered where that scene will be shot.
According to one of our commenters, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is shooting a cemetery scene later today at the Lutheran Cemetery in Queens, NY. Trailers are parked on Myrtle Ave and Freshpond Road.”

This week, thanks to Marc Webb’s Twitter feed, it was announced that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 began filming, it just wasn’t clear where they were filming.
Based on recent casting calls (and Marc’s Tweets) it was clear they were filming in New York, but there hadn’t been any signs spotted, until today. This morning HHH signs were spotted outside Grumman Studios in Bethpage, NY, which we’ve confirmed are for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

In addition to some of the casting scoop we revealed last month, we have another tidbit about production on The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which is expected to begin principal photography in NYC and Los Angeles in February.
Today we’ve learned they’re gearing up to start work on the movie’s special effects at Ironhead Studios in L.A., possibly next week. According to their website, “Iron Head is an effects firm specializing in costume and creature design.” We’re not sure exactly what they’ll be working on at Ironhead, but we’re excited to hear production is heating up!

Yesterday the first casting call looking for stand-ins for the movie London Calling hit the web. Of course, London Calling is the working title for Spider-Man 2 which is expected to begin filming early next year.
The casting call is specifically looking for a stand-in for Shailene Woodley, who is set to star as Mary Jane Watson in the upcoming film.
