Most of our tips for NYC filming locations come from permit signs that are spotted on streets throughout the city. NYC posts these signs to let residents know they won’t be able to park on the street while filming is going on because they will need the space to park trailers, trucks, etc.
There are two dates on the permits. The first date (top date and time) is the deadline for moving cars before they are towed, the second date and time is when they will actually be filming. Here’s an example: 
I circled where you can find the date and time the production will be filming, this is what you will will want to look for if you spot a permit. Of course, you will also want to note the name of the production, in this example it is obviously Gossip Girl. We will also need the street and nearest cross street where the sign is posted.

It seems likely, if you’re using our site, you’re a movie fan. If you do watch a lot of movies and haven’t signed up yet, you should check out Netflix. As soon as Netflix receives your movie back, the next movie in your queue will automatically be sent out.
You can also use their service that allows you to watch movies instantly online. If the movie you want to see is available to watch on your computer, you can start watching it instantly by clicking the “Play” button under the movie on the Netflix website.

You may have noticed the site has been slow or down intermittently this week due to an increase in traffic. We are working on resolving this problem, and as a result the site may be inaccessible starting at 9 p.m. tonight but should be back up by tomorrow morning. P.S. This is also the reason why all of your donations have been so important. As our traffic has increased, we have realized it is necessary to make upgrades to keep the site running smoothly. UPDATE: Signs for Love and Other Impossible Pursuits on 88th street and Lexington in New York City. It said they were filiming on Sunday December 7 from 7 am to 11pm. (Thanks Emma!)
