There are a lot of big celebs on location this month. Below are the first pictures of Brad Pitt in Inglorious Bastards on location in Germany, Robert Downey Jr. filming Sherlock Holmes in London, and George Clooney filming Men Who Stare at Goats in Puerto Rico.

Speaking of Brad Pitt, it looks like he is causing controversy in (one of his many) hometowns. Hopefully, things will go more smoothly when My Own Love Songs begins filming next month in New Orleans!

Remember earlier in the week we mentioned that Channing Tatum was filming in South Carolina? Well, here’s a story about a few lucky fans who met the star at Urban Outfitters.

We found confirmation that JLo will be filming in Massachusetts soon!

Several cars that were to be used in the new John Travolta movie filming in Paris were set ablaze by arsonists last week.

The Tempist will be filmed on Maui.

An indie horror movie entitled, Best Ribs in Town, has been filming in Bailey, CO.

I’m exhausted just thinking about the Jolie-Pitts travel schedule. Last weekend they were in NYC, then New Orleans, then France, today back to Berlin, and I heard Angie will be at the Today Show (in studio) on Thursday. Here’s a video of Ang, Brad, Mad, and Pax in New Orleans, I need a nap.

Martin Scorsese and Robert DeNiro are teaming up again for another mob movie. This one will be filmed in various locations across Pennsylvania including Scranton and Philadelphia.

Often people ask how long a shoot will last at a certain location and often the answer is “all day”. I found this interesting resource (I think it is from Wikipedia originally) that explains what happens on an average shoot day, this may give some insight into why it takes so long to complete just one or two scenes.

Extras are needed for the next Nicholas Sparks novel turned movie, Dear John. The movie begins filming this month near Charleston, SC.

Wild Target began filming on the Isle of Man this week.

Dominic Purcell had a brush with a ghost on the set of Prison Break in Joliet.

Tim Burton started filming Alice in Wonderland in England last week. One of our readers, Dave, was kind enough to send us pictures from the print edition of a local paper and a link to the article!

John Cusack is in Vancouver for his next flick, Farewell Atlantis.

Chloe Moretz, the young girl playing Hit Girl in the upcoming movie Kick-Ass, is blogging about filming on location in Canada.

Inglorious Bastards will begin filming this month in Berlin which means the Jolie-Pitts have arrived in Germany.

As we have reported, The Hamptons have been a hotbed of filming activity as Gossip Girl, Royal Pains, and Suburban Shootout have all been filmed in the region recently.

We’ve reported that Transformers 2 is filming in White Sands, NM (one of the coolest places on earth). Now we have found out that White Sands is filling in for Egypt in the movie.

Guthrie, OK was transformed back to the turn of the century for the movie, Pearl last week.

This is very cool! They turned a community pool in Hawaii into a dangerous stormy sea for a scene in Lost, there is a video too! And could this be the REAL Lost location?

Upcoming Films and Festivals

Over the past two weeks several movies have gone into production and just as many have been announced. We have also heard about a few film events and festivals. Here’s a summary of what’s happening now and what’s coming up soon!

The Coen brothers started filming A Serious Man last week in Minnesota. They will be filming through November around the state, this week they are in Bloomington.

HBO is looking for extras for a new feature film, starring Claire Danes, which will begin filming in Austin, TX later this year.

Beginning September 28th a new movie about Darwin and will begin filming in his actual home.

Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland began filming in the U.K.

Here’s an opportunity to see a movie with your favorite star.
