Earlier this week we heard about a movie filming on Nine Mile in Ferndale, MI and it turns out it was new feature starring William H. Macy and Brittany Snow.

The film, Dial-a-Prayer, is being shot in and around metro Detroit through the summer.

As we reported earlier in the week rumors have been swirling that the upcoming Untitled Man of Steel Sequel, also known as Superman Vs. Batman, will film in Detroit, and now the Michigan is confirming the news.

This morning it was announced that the movie has been approved for $35 million in state film incentives and should begin filming early next year.

According to Ryan Hill Casting, the movie Division 19 begins filming in the Detroit, MI area today. Little is known about the movie except that it stars Neve Campbell (who also shot Scream 4 in Michigan back in 2010) and Dougray Scott.

The movie will shoot six days a weeks for the next few weeks, taking Monday off.

After starting production this spring in Northern California and spending the last two months filming in and around Atlanta, GA, Need for Speed has moved to Detroit, MI for the rest of their shoot.

The movie, starring Aaron Paul, Dominic Cooper, Michael Keaton, Rami Malek, and Imogen Poots, chronicles a cross-country journey at impossible speeds. It is based on the popular video game series of the same name, which has sold more than 140 million copies worldwide. Last week Dreamworks announced it has partnered with Ford to feature several Ford vehicles in the movie, including a customized Mustang.

Ryan Gosling is back at work today on the Detroit, MI set of his directorial debut, How To Catch A Monster.

This morning the movie, which stars Matt Smith and Christina Hendricks, was spotted filming in the Dupless is Playground at Chrysler and Wilkins Street.

As we were first to report, How To Catch A Monster has been filming near the Masonic Temple in Detroit for the past week and tomorrow, Friday, May 10, they will return to the same area.

On Friday they are expected to return to a theater (where they filmed today) right off of Cass Ave and Charlotte St in Detroit.

Thanks to one of our tipsters we’ve learned there were filming flyers distributed in the neighborhood around the Masonic Temple in Detroit for How To Catch A Monster.

The flyer states filming will take place tomorrow on Cass Street between the Masonic Temple (Temple St) and Mack((Martin Luther King Jr Blvd) in the “afternoon hours”. According to a recent casting call, they won’t begin shooting before 3 P.M. As we’ve reported, the movie has been filming in the same general area since last Friday.
