New Casting Calls in Michigan and New Mexico

A new movie is casting children in the Los Alamos, Taos and Albuquerque, NM areas. “Let Me In”, starring Kodi Smit-McPhee (”The Road”) and Chole Moretz from (”500 Days of Summer”), is looking for children ages 8 to 18 in Los Alamos, Taos and Albuquerque. “Let Me In” is a story about a bullied young boy who befriends a young female vampire who lives in secrecy with her guardian. The film is directed by Matt Reeves who also irected “Cloverfield.” You can register with Elizabeth Gabel online at www.egcasting.com or call 505-967-9533.

People are also needed to create a crowd scene for the film “What’s Wrong With Virginia?” starring Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris, Emma Roberts, Amy Madigan and Harrison Gilbertson.The film is written and directed by Dustin Lance Black, the Academy Award-Winning screenwriter of “Milk,” and is being produced by TicTock Studios of Holland. Rather than using a limited number of extras for this scene, the opportunity is open to anyone interested in participating. Filming will take place in a beach boardwalk setting in South Haven, Michigan, on October 26, weather permitting. You can register here.

Filming News: Link Love for October 14, 2009

Kristen Bell has signed on to co-star with Christina Aguilera in Burlesque, about “the journey of an ambitious small-town girl (Aguilera) with a big-town voice who finds love and success in a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club.” Shooting begins in Los Angeles November 9th with a Thanksgiving 2010 release planned.

Jon Hamm was injured on the Boston set of The Town last week.

Boarding School 3D, starring David Chokachi, begins filming in Detroit later this year. Wasn’t he on one of those VH1 shows where washed up celebs go to try to revive their career? Based on the title of this movie, I don’t think it worked.

Gerard Butler is blaming the paps for ruining scenes for The Bounty while they were filming in NYC. He said, “A lot of the paparazzi are really good people but some of them are a nightmare. They go out of their way to disrupt filming and it’s really sad because you’re there with a crew of 200 just trying to make a living.”

This isn’t movie related, but it’s such a cool idea I had to include it: Rap Maps: Plotting Jay-Z’s ‘Empire State of Mind’ on Google.

Several big names are heading to Spokane, WA for the movie The Big Bang. Antonio Banderas, Sam Elliott, Rebecca Mader (Lost) and Snoop Dogg are all set to star in the film. This will be the second movie Snoop filmed in Spokane, he was also featured in the 2007 film, The Golden Door as well.

Shreveport, LA has launched a filming location sites tour for their city.

Extras are need for the film, Let Me In which begins filming in Albuquerque next month.

Monday, Governor Schwarzenegger signed an anti-paparazzi bill that will make it easier to sue media outlets that use photos that invade celebrities’ privacy.

Finally, as Perez would say, this is completely gratuitous.
