As work on the sets at 600 Wells St and Federal St in Chicago continues, we have some information about two more upcoming locations for the highly anticipated movie Divergent.
Signs and permits have been spotted at 401 N Michigan Ave (filming permits run along Michigan Ave from E North Water St to E Illinois St) and around S Clark St from Jackson Blvd to Adams St. Filming date for both is Friday, May 24 but, as we’ve learned, sometimes the date given for filming is just the date they begin setting up/set construction.
While filming in Los Angeles has been steady, feature film shoots have declined due to increased government incentives offered by rival states, including Louisiana and Georgia.
But, the Zac Efron/Seth Rogen comedy Townies has provided a boost to Los Angeles feature film production.
The Universal movie, directed by Nicholas Stoller, has been among the most active on location shoots recently. Townies, which revolves around a frat boy whose behavior affects a local neighbor’s family life, has been filmed entirely in Los Angeles.
Today marks the third day of filming in downtownCleveland, OH for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. So far, the Cleveland shoot has consisted of car crashes, shoot outs, and a large explosion. And, it looks like Cleveland is filling in for Washington D.C., where they spent three days filming on location last week, in the movie.
Below is a video of that explosion and a few photos of today’s downtown set, along with a photo of star Samuel L. Jackson with the city’s mayor Frank Jackson.
Last week Jamie Foxx stepped behind the camera in Brooklyn, New York to direct Canon’s Project Imaginat10n.
For the project’s stars, Tyrin Turner and Nichole Galicia Jamie, the actor became a hands-on director. He also had a few supportive visitors stop by throughout the shoot, including his mentor Ron Howard, David West from the Pacers, and lots of local fans.
