The Sundance Institute recently announced the Sundance Film Festival U.S.A. initiative, which will extend the upcoming 2010 Sundance Film Festival to eight cities across the U.S. On January 28, 2010, the kick off of the festival, eight filmmakers will be sent theaters in different cities where they will screen their work and discuss it.

Get ready L.A., New Moon’s headed your way. The U.S. premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon will take place Monday, Nov. 16 at Mann’s Village Theatre, 961 Broxton Avenue, in Westwood Village. The entire cast is expected to be on hand and arrivals are likely to start between 5 PM and 6:30 PM. The city has also issued permits for the New Moon Premiere Party at Lindbrook Dr and Glendon Ave, also in Westwood Village, for Nov. 16 beginning at 9:00 P.M.

According to a NY Daily News article published today, the public will no longer be allowed to view the weekly stack of city film permits. These are the same permits that are posted on the streets of NYC and give information about what is filming and the dates and hours when filming will take place. The Mayor’s Film Office used to open its doors to the public for a few hours each Wednesday and anyone could go in and look through all of the filming permits for the week. It comes as no surprise that the # 1 users of this service was the paparazzi.

We’ve received several emails this week asking where exactly The Romantics is filming in North Fork, Long Island. We’ve even gotten a few asking where that Starbucks is that we all keep seeing on Just Jared. Well, we haven’t received any more information about the exact filming location yet, but we did find the Starbucks!
