More filming locations and filming dates for ‘Batman V Superman’ in Detroit

As we've reported, there is a large set being constructed for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (though if you ask the crew what it's for they'll probably tell you it's for a commercial) at Sixth and Abbott St in Detroit's Corktown district and now we have some ideas as to when filming at the site will take place.

Several businesses in nearby areas have received notices stating a movie will be filming will from August 6th through August 9th around Shelby St from W Larned St to Lafayette and Fort Street from Woodward to Washington Blvd. The notice also says there will not be any explosions but business owners should expect smoke and "fast moving cars."

These new street closures are about 15 blocks from the site on Sixth St so it is possible there will be multiple filming locations in this area by next month.

According to the crew at the Sixth St set, passersby will soon be able to tell what it is. As of last week, they had delivered several truck loads of Styrofoam which we're assuming will be used to create the building' facade.

Below are a few photos from the set and video taken about 2 weeks ago:

Thanks to Steven and Dan for the photos and video. If you have any scoop about BVS, let us know about it at!

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' car chase to shoot in early August - Batman News

[…] OLV is reporting that businesses near Detroit’s Corktown district have received notices stating that a movie will be shooting from August 6th through August 9th around Shelby St from W Larned St to Lafayette and Fort Street from Woodward to Washington Blvd. The letter explains that there won’t be any explosions, but that business owners should expect to see smoke and “fast moving cars”. That movie of course is almost certainly Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which has been shooting in Detroit since May. […]

Hopefully we’ll know more before then since it is still a couple weeks away…at least its something new that’s not in studio! 🙂

This is great. Definitely for Batman. The guy in the video really missed out of the Transformer stuff. Michael Bay as much more open with his filming.

I saw the sign “CCP” at Orion Oaks county park near Lake Orion. In the park a movie set is being built and when I asked they said it was for a commercial. Further in the park a smaller structure was built that looked like a family mausoleum. Looking at the front of the building the inscription read “Wayne”
