‘The Homesman’ & ‘The Ridiculous Six’ among projects casting extras during New Mexico’s Film & Media Day

The annual New Mexico Film & Media Day returns with casting directors and industry insiders coming together for an all day multi-media event at the state capitol building in Santa Fe, New Mexico on February 22, 2013.

Here’s a look at a few of the movies and TV show gearing up to shoot in New Mexico and expected to be on hand to register extras for their upcoming shoots.

The movie Jane Got A Gun, starring Natalie Portman, follows a woman who reluctantly reaches out to an ex-lover for help after her outlaw husband returns home badly injured.

Seth MacFarlane will direct and star in A Million Ways to Die in the West which follows “a sheepish farmer who chickens out of a gunfight and sees his girlfriend leave him. When he meets the wife of a notorious outlaw who offers to teach him how to shoot, the farmer at first sees a chance to win back his love but slowly falls for the woman. Complications ensue when the outlaw returns and reclaims his woman.”

The Homesman, starring Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones follows a claim jumper and a pioneer woman who team up to escort three insane women from Nebraska to Iowa.

Adam Sandler’s Western comedy The Ridiculous Six is expected to begin filming in April.

The TV show Longmire, The Signal, and Runaway will also be there. And, there’s even a rumor a casting agency representing Captain America 2 might on hand too!
