This week, thanks to Marc Webb’s Twitter feed, it was announced that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 began filming, it just wasn’t clear where they were filming.
Based on recent casting calls (and Marc’s Tweets) it was clear they were filming in New York, but there hadn’t been any signs spotted, until today. This morning HHH signs were spotted outside Grumman Studios in Bethpage, NY, which we’ve confirmed are for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
According Columbia Pictures, the movie will be the first in the franchise to be filmed entirely in New York State. In addition to the studio work they’ll be doing at Grumman, Spider-Man 2 will also be filming on location in New York City, so be on the lookout for those HHH signs (or UCP signs or London Calling signs).
Columbia also released the movie’s official synopsis, which you can read below:
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
