Two new movies are setting up shop in Ohio this month.
The first is a “revenge thriller” called Scorned, that began filming in Portsmouth, OH last week.
It’s no coincidence Portsmouth was chosen as the film’s primary location. One of Scorned’s producers, Lance Thompson, is a Portsmouth native.
The direct-to-DVD flick, starring Billy Zane, AnnaLynne McCord, and Viva Bianca, will wrap up in Ohio later this month.
In addition to Scorned, a teen drama, called Underdogs, will begin filming in North Canton and Stark County, OH on July 16.
Underdogs, which stars Charles Carver (Desperate Housewives), is described as “a movie about beating the odds and rising to the challenges both on and off the [football] field.”
Underdogs also has a hometown connection, the movie’s director, Doug Dearth, grew up in Stark County.
