There’s been some fierce debate over whether or not Robert Downey Jr. has been on Cary, N.C. set of Iron Man 3 this week.
Since the movie started filming at Epic Games in Cary yesterday, fans have been patiently watching the action (from a distance) hoping for a glimpse of Iron Man himself. Though a local TV station confirmed Don Cheadle was on set today, there was still some debate about RDJ’s presence.
One of our commenters, Kristen, said, “Me and a few friends were at Epic Game from 6am-6pm. We spotted RDJ three times walking around dribbling a basketball and reading a script”, but she wasn’t able to provide photographic evidence. While another fan, Lydia, hoped she might have snapped a photo of him but added, “it’s hard to tell.”
As the debate continues, we think the photo above, sent to us by Alanna, does show Robert Downey Jr. walking to the Cary set. If you look closely at the man in the suit on the far right it does seem to be a dead ringer for RDJ. Let us know if you think it is him in a comment below!
As for tomorrow’s shoot, Iron Man 3 is expected to film a driving scene on Weston Parkway from NC 54/Chapel Hill Road to Harrison Avenue from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. “These periodic rolling closures are to accommodate activity registered with the North Carolina Division of Tourism, Film, and Sports Development.”
