Oliver Stone has started filming his next project, Savages, in Los Angeles.
The movie is based on the 2010 novel by Don Winslow about Ben and Chon, two friends who run a marijuana operation in Laguna Beach, CA. But, their operation is threatened by a Mexican drug cartel who kidnaps one of their female confidants and “sets into motion an escalating conflict.”
Savages’ all star cast includes Blake Lively, John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Johnson, Salma Hayek, Benicio del Toro, and Emile Hirsch.
Today, they are filming at the Malibu Riding and Tennis Club. Look out for signs that read PAQU.
Savages currently has a release date of September 28, 2012.

That makes me horribly sad! I wanted to see her! So not fair.. It all confused me today! :[ hopefully she will be around when they aren’t in studio next…

Hey @ChristineP, this is really late but they filmed Blake Lively at Galleria Mall in Redondo beach for two days July 25 and 26. That’s where she is in the mini cooper. I was able to take a picture with her on Monday before TMZ and her two big securities came in before the mall opened. She was very genuine and humble.
I was at the mall where this movie isbeen filmed. Is great the director is filminglocally instead of goingout to another state. Emily Hirsh looks amazing!!
I was in Dana Point yesterday (on Amber Lantern) and they were filming this movie on the cliff overlooking Dana Point Harbor. We had just missed Travolta … but they were supposed to continue filming there today.
