Brad Pitt was caught leaving L.A. today presumably en route to New Orleans where he’ll begin filming Cogan’s Trade on Thursday, Jan. 24.

Cogan’s Trade is based on the 1974 George V. Higgins novel of the same name that focuses on Jackie Cogan (Pitt), a Boston mob enforcer who investigates a heist that takes place during a mob-protected poker game.

The star-studded cast also includes Ray Liotta, James Gandolfini, Bella Heathcote, Javier Bardem, Sam Rockwell, Casey Affleck, Mark Ruffalo, Vincent Curatola and Richard Jenkins. Andrew Dominick is directing.

Tomorrow (Jan. 24) they will be filming at a local prison. As we’ve reported, the movie is using Second Line Studios as their home base.
