The Steven Soderbergh movie Contagion, which was filming in and around Chicago for most of the fall, will be filming in Atlanta for the next few days.
So far, we know they will be filming at Emory University on Thursday, 1.6, they may also be at that location on Friday, 1.7.
The movie, about a deadly disease and the team of doctors at the CDC tasked to contain it, stars Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Kate Winslet.

Update: They are also shooting at the CDC Thursday morning.
Update: It sounds like they will be shooting in Atlanta “for awhile”. Other locations will include Decatur and Downtown Atlanta.

I believe I see some movie trucks set up in Candler Park right off of Scott Blvd on Clifton Road across from Fernbank Museum. Couldn’t tell at this hour if it was them but it was definitely a professional movie set up.
Yes, it is the movie setup for Contagion they will be filming on the emory campus all day today
We just got word this morning that they are at the CDC right now too, which makes sense since the music is about the CDC. If anyone can confirm they will be at Emory tomorrow, please let us know, thanks!
I don’t know about the stars, but they’re definitely here. All the local media vans are parked outside the CDC entrance , the lane adjacent to the CDC is blocked off, and a lot of people were standing around looking on. Along with three guys dressed in full army gear–no idea if they were actors or actual army.
Was this the crew on Southerland/Oxford in Candler Park yesterday filing at a yellow house? Saw a blonde and a young african american woman doing a scene. The police held my car until they finished. Wasn’t sure who is was….

They are all over CDC’s main campus on Clifton Road. Traffic was horrible trying to get to Emory this morning.
Yeah… they caused everyone on my floor to be late for work this morning….

All actors and extras at CDC. Including military. Only real enforcement were the police directing traffic and protecting the cast and crew. The media vans were also staged.
Anyone know if there are any of the movie’s stars on set for sure (like Mat Damon, etc)
I would love to know if they are still filming tomorrow because I work at the Marcus Autism Center on Briarcliff and it took me an hour to go two miles this morning. If I’m going to be late then I want to see Matt in person
Laurence Fishburne is probably the only star on set, as seen in the Fox report. Matt Damon’s in rehearsals for a film in California.
Yeah, Matt Damon will begin filming We Bought A Zoo in a couple weeks…
