One of our readers, Cait, met Taylor Swift outside of her hotel in NYC just before her recent appearance on The Today Show. Cait said, “Such a nice girl. Her dad seemed cool too.” If you have a photo to share, please send it to OLV at olv@onlocationvacations.com!

hempstead

This week, yet another production was filming at the Hempstead House in Long Island, NY. Boardwalk Empire, a new HBO series starring Steve Buschemi, is just one of the productions that has filmed at the Hempstead in the past year.  The house has also been featured recently in Kings and Royal Pains.

The Hempstead House is a castle located at Sands Point Preserve that has 3 floors, contains 40 rooms and an 80-foot tower. The house can can be toured daily, though there is no charge on Thursdays. The castle is no longer furnished but its architecture can still be appreciated and enjoyed.

strand

The Strand was also a hot filming location this week after Robert Pattinson was clipped by a taxi outside of the bookstore where he was filming scenes for Remember Me.  The Strand is one of NYC’s most beloved bookstores, featuring three floors of used and new books. It is also a favorite of location scouts and has been featured in several TV shows as well as the upcoming feature film, Julie and Julia.

Last night, Ed Westwick debuted the lasted K Swiss line at Bloomingdale’s in NYC. Ed is the latest spokesperson for the brand and we have a preview of his news ads below. We also found a couple pictures from the Bloomingdale’s event on Just Jared.

But, more importantly, one of our readers, Amanda, was at the K Swiss Party and got a chance to talk to him about the upcoming season of Gossip Girl. He told her they begin filming season three a week from next Monday. Sounds like we don’t have to wait much longer for filming to be in full swing in NYC!

If you need something to hold you over until then, don’t forget, you can still get tickets to the special On Location Tour celebrating all things Chuck Bass!
