natashaBy now, everyone has heard about the tragic death of actress Natasha Richardson. Apparently, Richardson initially walked away from her fall on the beginner’s slope of a Montreal Ski resort and was taken to the hospital an hour later when she complained of a headache. Tuesday, she was flown to Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan where her family held vigil for her until she was taken off of life support yesterday. Richardson, who starred in 1998’s Parent Trap, leaves behind her husband, actor Liam Neeson, her mother, actress Vanessa Redgrave, and two young sons, Michael and Daniel Neeson.

What many have not heard much about is the ski resort where Richardson was staying with her son when the accident happened. Mont Tremblant is a good location for celebrity spotters because the resort’s private villas attract celebrities, like Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, and professional athletes. They offer two or three-bedroom, ski-in, ski-out properties just minutes from a pedestrian village making this an idyllic stop for stars looking for a secluded getaway. The resort is located 45 minutes north of Montreal adding to the privacy for celebrities, since there are few paparazzi that far north.

The resort doesn’t just offer skiing, skating and snowshoeing are popular activities too. In the summer, the region offers biking, hiking, golf, and the Circuit Mont Tremblant, an auto racing track that has been host to Formula One championships. For more information about Mont Tremblant, visit their official site.

Fair Game, a drama following the life of CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson, starring Naomi Watts, was rumored to film in Boston but it looks like it will shoot in NYC instead to take advantage of the tax credit. It looks like the film got into the NYS tax incentive program while there was still money available. But don’t worry Bostonians, there are still plenty of stars headed your way. Movies starring Ben Afflack, Adam Sandler, and Reese Witherspoon are all in negotiations to film in Beantown this summer.

Somehow, we missed the star-studded premiere of the documentary Valentino: The Last Emperor at NYC’s Museum of Modern Art. Guests included Gwyneth Paltrow, Anne Hathaway, Claire Danes, and Madonna.

Finally, The Vancouver Sun speculates about possible locations for New Moon.
