Over the past two weeks several movies have gone into production and just as many have been announced. We have also heard about a few film events and festivals. Here’s a summary of what’s happening now and what’s coming up soon!
The Coen brothers started filming A Serious Man last week in Minnesota. They will be filming through November around the state, this week they are in Bloomington.
HBO is looking for extras for a new feature film, starring Claire Danes, which will begin filming in Austin, TX later this year.
Beginning September 28th a new movie about Darwin and will begin filming in his actual home.
Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland began filming in the U.K.

Finally, check out the filming boom happening in Michigan:
Demoted will begin filming in Plymouth Township, MI October 1st.
HBO has been filming a pilot at a home on Middle Straits Lake in Michigan.
A new movie starring Kim Cattrall began filming last week in Westland, MI.
All’s Fair in Love has been filming at the Atwood Stadium and downtown Flint, MI this week.
Robert DuVall will begin shooting a TV min-series in Western Michigan, La Linea, early next year.

They are filming an Obama ad in the open land under 6th St. bridge, Santa Fe Ave east to LA River in Los Angeles.
Taking Woodstock is back on Route 20 in New Lebanon, NY.
Criminal Intent is filming at 473 West End Ave in NYC.

Flight of the Conchords is filming on S. 6th St in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
On Sunday, 9/21, Bone Deep is filming at 550 S. Hope St, 630 W. 5th St, 535 S. Grand Ave, & 406 S. Olive St in Los Angeles. (They will be at the S. Olive St location tomorrow as well)
