6.30.08 On Location News

Sad news for set-jetters, the popular San Diego restaurant where Tom Cruise crooned in Top Gun was gutted by fire last week.

Extras are needed for Whip It, Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut. The film begins shooting in Michigan this summer.

Nacogdoches, Texas has become “film friendly” in an effort to draw film productions to the region.

Two more movies have been green-lighted to begin production this year in South Carolina.

Here is a cool blog documenting the last couple of days of Public Enemies in WI including a few nice shots of Johnny Depp.

Homes featured in the upcoming Tree of Life (starring Brad Pitt) are giving a boost to the housing market in Smithville, TX, another benefit of on location filming.
