Shreveport, LA

As we mentioned, HBO’s True Blood is filming in Shreveport, LA this week. The city has seen a boom in on location filming, hosting among other productions, Mad Money last year. Shreveport is centrally located, an easy drive to both Dallas, TX and New Orleans. Here is a guide of things to do and where to stay. And if you are road tripping this summer, don’t forget the great roadside attractions throughout the south!

This is most likely the last day of filming for the first season of Gossip Girl! They are filming at Cooper Hewitt Museum on 91st and 5th.

Gossip Girl is filming near E 96th between Park and Lex in Manhattan.

The Rebound is filming near W 14th between 8th and 8th Sts in Manhattan.

Everybody’s Fine is filming in New Haven near 226 Cedar St. For more about information on New Haven, check out the day we had in town last summer watching them film scenes for the upcoming Indiana Jones.

4.27.08 Extras, Extras!

We received the following from an extra for a wedding scene on the set of Gossip Girl last week:

“All the girls were wearing pastel dresses, the boys in suits…and there was a very positive, upbeat overall vibe on set. Since weddings normally take place at night, we had to wait for the sun to set to film most of the scenes…we didnt finish filming until 4am! it was insane! But it was a very rewarding experience.
The cast is really nice and so are the rest of the extras. [btw Leighton Meester and Blake Lively are INSEPERABLE on set. Wherever that feud rumor came from is beyond me!]
I did find out that this upcoming week is their last week filming season 1.
They’re going to start filming season 2 in the middle of June through out the summer.”

One of readers, Elissa, just let us know Gossip Girl is filming near 90th Street and Park avenue tonight, thanks Elissa!

Also we received some info about the Untitled Kevin James Movie (formerly called Mall Cop, also known as Paul Blart: Mall Cop) from one of the film’s extras. They have been filming at the Burlington Mall, Burlington, MA during both mall hours and after. Also, the mall is set as the West Orange Pavilion Mall, NJ.

Astoria, Queens

Most travelers to NYC never leave Manhattan, for that matter most Manhattanites never leave Manhattan, which is a shame considering all the other boroughs offer. As we mentioned, Julie and Julia is filming in Astoria, Queens today. We gathered a few links for those of you thinking about checking out the set, why not spend the day and make Queens a destination not just a stop over?
