Bus Accessibility

All Park City Transit buses are ADA accessible, and drivers are trained to assist those with disabilities. Guests requiring this service must apply at least two weeks prior to the Festival.

For further information about paratransit service, and for an ADA Eligibility Application, contact Park City’s paratransit certification office, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at (435) 615-5301.

1.17.08 Sundance Preview

by Christine on January 17, 2008 · 0 comments

in Events

OLV is headed to the Sundance Film Festival this weekend and we will be bringing you all of the best Park City, UT has to offer.

First, no matter how much of a film snob you are, we know deep down everyone who heads to the festival is hoping for a good celebrity sighting. Since the writer’s strike has shut down most of Hollywood, this is sure to be a stellar year for celebrity bagging!

The best place to see celebs is at a premiere of one of their films. There is usually a Q & A segment following premieres in which the audience gets to ask pretentious questions of the director and primary cast. This is a great place to get a good look at your favorite stars. The problem is, at this point, most of the big premieres are sold out. But don’t worry, if you are just kicking your plans into gear, there is still hope.

Here are tips on getting last minute tickets from the Salt Lake Tribune:

Getting tickets: Even at this late date, after all the package-holders have done their damage, there are a few tickets to be had. Check out the festival box offices and see what’s still available.
Try, try again: If something is sold out, it doesn’t mean all is lost. Day-of-show tickets are released every morning at 8 at the main box offices.Tickets for the day’s first show are released at 8 a.m. the previous day.) Tickets for evening screenings that start after the box office closes may be purchased (cash only) at the venue. All tickets must be bought in person.
Wait in line: If you’re determined to see something, use the wait-list system. Two hours before show time (or one hour before the first show of the morning), volunteers will start handing out wait-list numbers to people in line (one to a person – no saving spaces for all your friends). If you have one of those numbers, you can leave for awhile, but come back at least 30 minutes before show time and buy a ticket. If there’s room for you, you’re in. If not, you get a refund.”

If you can’t make it to a premiere the next best place to see celebrities is  coming and going from the parties and lounges held throughout the festival. Here’s a few ot spots:

Entertainment Weekly Cafe, Sundance House at Kimball Art Center

HP Broadcast Studio, Sundance House at Kimball Art Center

Ray-Ban Rock Bar, 427 main St

Bon Appetit Supper Club on Main

Delta Sky Bar on Main St

Music Cafe at at the Star Bar (Patti Smith will be there Mon 1/21 @ 6 PM, it also rumored U2 will be palying there sometime over the weekend, we will keep you posted!)

Other tips for navigating the festival:

Keep an eye on the Salt Lake City Tribune. They have a festival guide, articles, and tips everyday.

Print out the Film Guide. This is your bible for the festival, it is over a hundred pages long but it lists every film, venue, gala, and lounge. Learn it, live it, love it! The Sundance Film Festival website also has great tips about getting there, including parking and lodging information. We also recommend staying in Salt Lake City if you have problems finding a room in Park City. Though it is about 45 minutes away from Park City, rooms will be cheaper and much more abundant.

Keep an eye on our site all weekend as we bring you more information live from the streets of Park City!
