Baraboo, Wisconsin is in the running to be the location of the next Michael Mann movie, Public Enemies. The film, starring Johnny Depp, will begin production next year.

Here’s a short article about the recent financial benefits filming has had on Pittsburgh. The city has more to look forward to as well seeing that Kevin Smith begins filming his latest project in Pittsburgh next month.

We have just learned that Tekken, based on the popular video game, will be filmed n Shreveport, LA.

Quebec lowers tax rate for filming in a bid to lure filmmakers.

I Am Legend was filmed on location in NYC for those who were wondering. It also includes the most expensive scene ever made.

Here is an article about a man who protects celebs while they are filming on location in (often dangerous) foreign countries.

Arizona currently has a new exhibit on display at the McCullough-Price House in Handler ”On Location: Movies Shot in Arizona”. The exhibit celebrates the history of filming in Arizona.

Tobey Keith will begin filming Beer for My Horses in New Mexico on February 10th.

Richard Gere will be filming for 2-3 weeks early next year in Bristol, RI.

Mansfield, LA gets ready to see its name in lights as The Great Debaters premieres in theaters this week. Mansfield was one of the primary locations used in filming.

Today will be our last update until 12/26/07. We hope everyone has a Very Merry Christmas!

We also wanted to announce that we are extending our photo contest to February 1st! We have heard from a few of you who feel you are at a disadvantage since so many productions are not filming due to either the strike or the holidays. (It is rather hard to get photos of shoots that don’t exist!) We do sympathize and therefore we are extending our contest, good luck!

Our top 2007 travel inspiring film was Stardust, partially filmed in Norwich, England. It appears Norwich is getting more screen time this week, as My Talks With Dean Spanley wraps up filming in the quaint countryside town.

In our newsletter this weekend we announced a casting call for the movie Burning Plain starring Charlize Theron, in Oregon this past weekend. The film recently shot a scene in Las Cruces, NM. Here is a story about filming and a map of the area.

The Box, starring Cameron Diaz, will be filming in Virginia in January. The film has been shooting outside of Boston.

Lipstick Jungle is filming near 328 W 14th St in Manhattan. It has also been announced that February 7th will be the premiere date for LG on NBC!

More News 12.15.07

If you received our newsletter yesterday you  also received the info for the new Kevin Smith film Zack and Miri Make a Porno which will be filming in Pittsburgh next month. We have more info for you today! Kevin Smith’s Myspace page has an address for headshots and a list of requirements if you are interested in becoming an extra!

We also have a correction. In the newsletter we listed the email for crew inquires as crewaskew@gmail.com, according to the Pittsburgh Film Office it is actually blueaskew@gmail.com.

In other news, It looks like the strike has caused Halle Berry’s next movie (which was to be shot in Dallas) to be postponed. And there is good news for Utah who will be hosting the filming of High School Musical 3 beginning in April.

Hi everyone! Yesterday we gave you some great news about a casting call in Boston and if you subscribe to our newsletter you found out about two other exciting casting calls happening today as well! If you are not subscribing to our newsletter you may want to do so now. You will be helping some kids in need and getting the latest on location information!

In other news, we wanted to pass along the info we have found on Brothers (starring Jake Gyllenhaal & Tobey McGuire). According to this blog, they will be filming in Los Almos, NM next week, here are the locations:  

Sun, December 16 (afternoon): Trucks/trailers arrive Los Alamos and set-up base camp* in the parking lot behind and around the Immaculate Heart of Mary parking lot.
Mon, 17 (all day): Filming at United Church; base camp at IHM.
Tue, 18 (all day): same as above and then moving base camp to Golf Course.
Wed, 19 (all day): Filming at residence on Barranca Mesa; base camp at Golf Course.
Thur, 20 (all day): same as above.
Fri, 21 (all day); same as above and then leaving Los Alamos.’

We can’t confirm this information yet but if you are in the area it might be worth checking out and be sure to let us know what you find!!

Filming in Boston tomorrow, Extras Needed!

They are filming the last scene for The Lonely Maiden tomorrow in the financial district of Boston and need extras. Check out this MySpace page for information!
