Sorry so late guys, here are today’s locations.
Gossip Girl is filming in the NYC Palace Hotel, 455 Madison Ave between 50th and 51st.
Cashmere Mafia is filming near the Synagogue of the Arts (link includes a map).
Fighting is filming in Flushing tonight at two different locations. First at St. George Church (Main St and 38th Ave), the second at Flushing News Island 40-02 Main St @ Roosevelt Ave.

Happy Halloween! All month we have featured a location from one of our favorite scary movies in honor of our favorite holiday, Halloween!

This week’s location is the gas station seen in the 1974 classic, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre which was filmed in and around Austin, TX. Located at 1073 Hwy 304 in Bastrop County, this famous station is now Bilbo’s Texas Landmark, more commonly referred to as the “Texas Chainsaw Massacre BBQ”. Bilbo’s frequently features local live bands and we have heard the food is excellent too. If you are going, the directions on this page seem accurate. To call ahead, their number is 512-321-2049.

We would advise staying in Austin and taking advantage of the growing nightlife and art scene there. Here is a page with things to do in Austin and here are deals on flights, rental car, and rooms.
For more TCM locations in the area, check out this site or IMDB’s location page. This is an awesome picture set on flickr with various locations from the film. There are so many great reference guides for the movie(here is another one), these are all making our job easy! If “off the beaten path” is your bag, Roadside America lists other quirky destinations nearby. And finally, if you have Google Earth and want to see locations from this movie or locations from Friday the 13th, Scream, and Amityville Horror, you have to check out this index we found, it shows all of these and more!

Here is a follow up article from the Scranton newspaper about The Office Convention and the very good prospect that there will indeed be another one next year.
Now on a personal note, we may have mentioned that we are from the Utica, NY area. Our claim to fame here is that Thursday night’s episode of The Office (Branch Wars) will feature the fictional Dunder Mifflin Utica Branch. In response to the amazing reception they received in Scranton at this weekend’s conference, Greg Daniels, the show’s executive producer, was quoted saying, “I don’t think we’d have gotten this reception in Utica,” before calling the conventioneers “the best fans in television.”
We hate to say it, but we agree. Being featured on the show is a great opportunity to celebrate upstate NY. Aside from one or two canned stories (from E!) on the local news and a couple articles in the paper, no one seems to care that Utica is going to be in the public spotlight, even if only for one night.
We have not heard of one local viewing party. We have a lovely local theater that just last week celebrated the Utica “film festival” but never thought to screen The Office on Thursday? And what about all of the local bars that seem to have a theme night every week, no one else thought of the “drink every time they say Utica” game? If there is something planned, it has not been publicized very well and we would love to know about it.
There are a couple people involved in this site and we vowed never to make it our own personal soap box, there are enough big-mouth bloggers in the world, but we couldn’t let our disappointment go unnoticed.
We do want to mention that we met Greg Daniels at the convention and showed him we were from “the Utica branch” (we were wearing our DM Utica branch tees) and he replied with a big smile, two thumbs up, and an “awesome”!
Finally, don’t forget to tune in on Thursday (11/1 @ 9) for Branch Wars!
UPDATE 10/31: Ok, so maybe we were a little harsh. After posting this we did have a few people share their enthusiasm for the “Utica branch”. On a related note, we have found this forum specifically for fans of The Office in Utica who also want to share their enthusiasm, please check it out!
One more thing, apparently they are planning a spin off of The Office.
That’s it for The Office for this week! Everyone knows to tune in Thursday for “Branch Wars”, let us know what you thought in the comments below!
Sex and the City fans take note, they are filming a big Summer wedding scene today! The holding location is The Marriot Residence Inn, which is very close to Bryant Park and the library where they filmed a couple weeks ago.
Ghost Town is filming at 75 E. 93rd St today as well.
Any Harry Potter fans out there should really check out this site. They have a play by play of the filming that happened in Lacock last week.
A smaller production started in Dayton, OH this week staring Carolyn McCormick from Law and Order. Several locals are working on the movie entitled, True Nature.
Filming has begun on Lovely Bones near Philadelphia. Here is a slideshow of the first set pictures. The film was originally going to star Ryan Gosling but Mark Wahlberg is now in the role. The film is being director by Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson.
Coming Soon reports that filming on X-Files 2 will begin in December. Filming is scheduled to take place in Boston. We also heard that Cameron Diaz will be heading to Boston once What Happens in Vegas wraps to begin filming her next movie.

The Office Convention was this weekend in Scranton, PA and we were lucky enough to attend on Saturday. The entire cast was so nice, very accessible, and genuinely excited to be there. Over the course of the afternoon we were able to meet Phyllis, Greg Daniels (exec producer) and Leslie David Baker (Stanley). Leslie told us he would see us next year, which we took as a good sign this was only the “first annual”. At first we were disappointed “the big four” weren’t going to be there- Michael, Dwight, Jim, and Pam- but we ended up not needing them!
In the afternoon we watched The Scrantones play the show’s theme song (accompanied by Creed who was once a member of The Grass Roots!) and later in the afternoon we attended a Q & A with the entire cast. At the Q & A several cast members commented on how great it was that so many people (3500 at that event alone) came together in a place they had never been to before (Scranton) to share their love of the same thing. We agree! That is what OLV is all about! The event appeared to be a success, the rain held out for most of the afternoon, and fans came together from all over the world. If you were there, share your comments below. Here are our pics from The Office Convention!
